Community Advocates

What is an Advocate?

Advocating for Recovery

Celebrate Recovery advocates are passionate leaders who champion specific ministry areas within the CR movement. They raise awareness, equip local ministries, and walk alongside those who need support in their unique context — whether that's mental health, cultural backgrounds, incarceration, military service, or international communities.

Each advocacy area is led by a dedicated director and team who provide resources, training, and encouragement to help Celebrate Recovery ministries reach every person with the hope and healing found in Jesus Christ.

Areas of Advocacy

Mental Health

The Mental Health Team's mission is to equip local Celebrate Recovery ministries to empower individuals to achieve serenity with their mental health. They raise awareness, create safe spaces for conversation, and implement Mental Health Ambassadors at CR locations. While CR may not eliminate mental health struggles, these tools help equip leaders and sponsors to walk alongside participants as they learn to struggle well.

They facilitate Celebrate Recovery step studies for people of color led by people of color, serving Black, Latino, Indigenous, and AAPI communities. Their goal is unity and maturity in faith across every community.
