CR DNA

The Celebrate Recovery® Name is a Registered Trademark

In a desire to protect the integrity of the broader ministry, Celebrate Recovery® requires that if you use the Celebrate Recovery® name, the following are an irreducible minimum of your program.

Following the DNA allows individual CR ministries to use the name Celebrate Recovery and be connected to the growing community of Christ-centered, bible based Celebrate Recovery ministries all over the world. While you are helping individuals at your church overcome their hurts, hang-ups or habits your CR ministry is also part of an international community reaching people for Christ. By calling your ministry Celebrate Recovery and following the DNA you receive connection to other groups, support from the Global team and local representatives, identification with the CR name and promotion on the CR Locator.

A church or organization may decide to use the Celebrate Recovery curriculum and mix it with other materials, or programs. This is certainly up to their discretion. HOWEVER, they are prohibited from using the Celebrate Recovery® name.

Items produced for commercial sale using the Celebrate Recovery® name or any part of the Celebrate Recovery curriculums are strictly prohibited. This is a trademark and copyright violation.

The DNA of an Authentic Celebrate Recovery Ministry

1

Jesus Christ is the one and only Higher Power. The program is a Christ-centered ministry.

2

The Bible and *Celebrate Recovery curriculum are to be used exclusively. The twenty-five Large Group Lessons, found in the Leader's Guide, are taught in Large Group according to the Yearly Lesson and Testimony Schedule, keeping at least the acrostic and the scriptures as the key points in the lessons. This is to keep consistency within groups, allowing teachers to be creative with the remainder of each lesson.

3

The ministry is "group based." All Open Share and Step Study Groups are gender-specific, implement and follow "The Celebrate Recovery Small Group Guidelines" every time, and adhere to the CR DNA Group Formats.

4

A Celebrate Recovery ministry can be in-person or online.

If a local Celebrate Recovery ministry chooses to offer an online Large Group Meeting, please do the following:

  1. Use the CR parameters for online Large Groups to ensure anonymity and confidentiality are followed.
  2. Please follow copyright licensing procedures per your church copyright permissions.
  3. Before posting testimonies online, all testimonies must have written signed consent in accordance with your church.
  4. Teaching and posting Celebrate Recovery Lessons online is permitted. Your local group must also follow proper copyright licensing procedures per your church copyright permissions.

Online OSG and Step Studies follow the Online Group Formats, and the additional Small Group Guideline for Online Groups.

5

We expect each group (local CR ministry) to be accountable to Christ, the local church, and the Celebrate Recovery Global Team.

6

Celebrate Recovery is a ministry of the local church. Therefore, Celebrate Recovery will not attempt to dictate any doctrine or policy to a local church. A local Celebrate Recovery ministry should follow the policies of their local church and continue to be grateful for their continued support.
